Stumped on Sky. And you will be too! HELP NEEDED!

Right, no messing round here's the deal...

Friend needs Sky+ for as cheap as possible/free. We already have Sky+ and don't need to upgrade to Sky HD but would happily give her vouchers if that would help it be cheaper.

I cannot work out this for her, I have read a million posts and no one seems to be in this situation OR they have been but they are expired now.

So if you could simply explain how she can get it as cheap as possible please do. I'm lost in a minefield of ridiculous pricing strategies and irrelevant offers.

Welcome to Sky :T

P.S. Happy to Blag/Lie if I need to call them...

Today I received in the mail from Sky an offer to refer a friend to Sky and they would get Sky+ for Free (£30 install charge), and also Free Sky Broadband and Free UK telephone calls if they take Sky Talk.

You have to telephone a certain number and quote a reference code.

I would also get an upgrade to Sky+ for "Free" but this would require an installation charge (it says varies but I think it is £50) and also entering into another 12 month contract. I don't think I would have to take up the offer for the friend to get theirs.

If you want the details of where to telephone and what to quote because you also need the details of the person that received the mailshot and who is refering you, then send me a private mail. (Click on my username and click 'Send a private message to JAG').
  • If you have a person selling Sky in your local shopping centre, they often offer very good deals :)

it could cost £30 for installation but you can always haggle, and you get £50 M&S vouchers

or they can try doing it through quidco, £35 cash back, £99 for the box, £15 credit from sky and £50 M&S vouchers, plus a package with sky movies for £26 a month.
  • Thank you all so much for your help. I lost the thread but we have it all sorted now. Nice one! Thank you for your time!
  • Just be aware that the vouchers are extremly difficult to get out of Sky. Both me and the nominated friend had to ring up several times, being put through to various departments only to be told it wasn't processed because one of the account numbers were wrong. After it was sorted and played hell, we finally got them.

Just make sure you and your friend confirm the account numbers and make sure it will go through. Also ask for a direct number to phone to chase up the progress if possible.
