Application form

Please can anyone tell me?.......

1) can I view the full L.I.L.A. application form online? If so......where??

2) I`m a little confused as to what`s in the form, eg.......is a S.O.A. really incomings and outgoings.

Am hopeful that I will be in a position to go BR........just want to do as much preparation as I possibly can, until I find out if I can proceed for certain.

Thanks.

FP

Hiya again (I'm not stalking you - honest! :o It's just that I only know about the Scottish side - and I've been offline for a week, so I'm probably posting-happy!) )

This is the application form for you to apply for your own bankruptcy in Scotland (but the national minimum wage has increased slightly - there was another link about that which I'll find in a minute).

    http://www.aib.gov.uk/Resource/Doc/4/0000539.pdf

You can either print the form off and fill it in, or call the accountant in Bankruptcy and ask them to send you one.

You don't have to do incomings and outgoings (SOA stuff). You just have to tell them what you have coming in - through wages, benefits, pensions etc, and what your debts are (as best you can).

If your income is less than the national minimum wage per week (£229 per week ? before tax) and/or you get an income-based benefit (e.g income support, working tax credit), you've pretty much met the 'low income' part of it.

If you don't own any single thing that's worth more than £1,000, and your total non-essential assets add up to less than £10,000 in total, you've met the 'low asset' part too. ('Essential items' include your furniture, telly (unless it's a top of the range monster :D ) and - I think - even your PC).

There's nothing on the form that asks you what you spend your money on. :j :o

One wee tip - if you apply for bankruptcy under LILA, the Accountant in Bankruptcy will send you another form (Form 17) for you to confirm that you ARE eligible for LILA. If you haven't received that form a couple of weeks after you send in your application, I'd suggest you give them a ring to see what's happening.

    Good luck with it all!
