    Who said I dont work

I said "I rarely use car at all now gave up p/t job thanks to prices of oil and using car for work"

p/t (part time) I drove car for my job I was hardly making any money when you factor in car costs/petrol

I just spend it on essentials that's about all I have left now. You know mortgage, food, clothes etc. I got Xmas and two birthdays coming up. but as you said I dont spend I will starve, and be homeless and I may as well give upYou obviously very wise you know my life better than I do. :)
Then you are no good for our economy, doesn't work and doesn't spend.
    Hopeless.

For someone eyeing up an £18K motor, I hope the same applies to yourself..

I had a TT diesel or BMW 123d in mind.

Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.

    New shape diesel civic 2.2.
    Gave mine to the mrs.
Easy to maintain over 50 to the gallon and stupidly quick for a diesel with no turbo lag and torque all the way up to 4000rpm.

Best residuals. good time to get second hand exlease bargin:D

    I've been Money Tipped!
Well, we have been considering a replacment car for a while (every year about a month befor MOT time) I would nver buy nw though, nearly new is fin for me, lots left to run in to the ground, with out such horrific deprciation. We ALMOST bought a Prius, but wer put of by an engineer friend telling us environmntally it was probably worse. We also felt that things might develop further in a reltively short time on fuel source, so hav been happy to wait. (further compounded by big spnds on keeping current car alive). Anyway, I can't b th only person waiting to see what happens with availabilty of more/ different 'green' cars?

I have a friend in France who drives a discovery with a solar panel on the top.

Hydrogen is the future if we can extract it cheaper.

Problem with the semi-electric cars is the disposal of the batteries they are no where near green.

I've been reading of some serious bargains to be had in second hand market in recent months - although I've yet to personally encounter any such great deals.

I've finally got rid of my Mondeo after 4 months of trying to flog it. The car market is seriously on its @rse.

I fell into the house-selling trap of chasing the market down because I didn't want to believe that it really wasn't worth what I thought it was worth. In the end I lost £3600 in 6 months between the price I paid and the price I sold it for  . I normally wouldn't have allowed myself to lose that much but the car was the most unreliable heap of !!!!!! I've ever owned and the warranty is due to run out in January so it had to go.

Word of warning to anyone thinking of buying a 2.0 or 2.2 TDCI Mondeo - avoid them! If it's not the EGR valve needing replacing every week due to it getting bunged up with !!!!!! then it's the injectors packing up, both of which will cost you the price of the car to replace if it's out of warranty.
