The First Good Day

Firstly, thank you to everyone who's been giving me advice on this forum over the last couple of days. I'm going to be taking up a debt management plan from either CCCS or PayPlan.
As the first step, I've just been into town to switch banks. I've gone with Halifax after stumbling over ID with Nat West (no driving licence or passport). I've given them the details of my Barclays accounts to get everything swtiched over, and they're giving me £90 (£50 for one account, £40 for the other). A totally unexpected bonus. A good day at last!!

Hurrah! Nice to hear some good news for once.
I agree that it's such a relief when you have made the first contact with (in my case) CCCS. It felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders.I am a Travel Agent My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are E7760/3970. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. Atol numbers can be checked with the Civil Aviation Authority. Brilliant - well done you :T It's a lovely feeling when your first salary goes into your new account ... without being swallowed by an overdraft!!! I have a spreadsheet where I record all my expenses and every couple of days I'm reconciling it to my online bank statement, and I know to the PENNY what I've got in there. I changed all my direct debits myself by phoning them all up, just so I knew it was done, and the whole process only took about 3 days.
Now you just need to start saving every statement that comes through the door, so you can send copies to CCCS/PayPlan with your signed agreement for them to act on your behalf. I kept a plastic wallet for them all and just photocopied the whole pack when I'd got the lot together. Wage slip, bank statement and all credit card statements. I also typed up a table of all my creditors with the account numbers, addresses, amounts owing and credit limit for each. More for my own reference, but I thought they might find it useful! I also sent them a copy of the form which I'd sent to all my creditors, so they could see the reason I'd put for my having to go DMP.
Now just waiting for my letter back from CCCS replying to the pack of information I sent them. I think they send out a direct debit form for their monthly payment, plus a note of what they will be paying each creditor, for my information. Hopefully I'll get that soon.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244
