Hi all,
I’ve been posting a lot on these forums recently, so here’s quick recap.
After sorting my debts out I am helping to overhaul my OH’s. Since 2006, he has been making payments to Rockwell of around £30 per month. However, recently Rockwell have turned very mean despite the consistency of payments. Twice they have tried to pressure my OH into taking out loans to repay his debt (around £3200 as it stands now).
Yesterday I sent (by first class recorded) a letter of complaint to the Managing Director of Rockwell regarding their practices and, under a separate cover, a CCA request with a £1 postal order.
Problem is, today my OH received a letter from Fenton Cooper requesting full payment of £3200 by 11/11/08 (coincidence, eh?). I know from these forums that both Rockwell and Fenton Cooper are part of Tessara Portfolio Management, so in theory the debt hasn’t been passed anywhere. My question is, what do we do about the CCA request to Rockwell? Can we write to Fenton to say the account is currently in dispute? (Thing is, Rockwell would’ve only received the complaint/CCA request today, so the deadline wouldn’t have passed yet.) Or will the CCA request apply to both companies as they are owned by the same parent company?
Just when I thought I was getting organised with it all…
(Is it me, from reading the posts on this forum, DCA’s are starting to get more aggressive with people? It’s as if they were scared of a recession or something… )

Just bumping this up. Has anyone had a similar experience? Shall I just wait to see what Rockwell say first, before doing anything with Fenton Cooper? Please continue to hold the line. Your call is very important to us and will be answered by next available robot...0

I've decided to send Fenton Cooper a CCA request as well. It'll cost me another postal order and £1.08 recorded delivery. But I have a feeling that Rockwell will play awkward boggas and say the debt is no longer in their possession. Please continue to hold the line. Just to provide an update...
After sending the CCA requests to both Rockwell and Fenton Cooper with the £1 postal orders, I have just checked the Royal Mail website to track the recorded deliveries. Both CCA requests for both companies were signed by the same person!!!
