I forgot about my anniversary yesterday!

I can,t believe I totally forgot about my anniversary yesterday.We are not married yet but have always celebrated the anniversary of the day we met many many years ago.We even chose 5th November as our wedding date for next year so we get to keep the same anniversary date.
I didnt even realise when I saw flowers and a red envelope in with the shopping OH brought home.I just though I must have forgotten someones birthday or something.It didnt click till he said I could open my card,I was mortified!
I always drop hints for OH to make sure he doesnt forget the date and I just cant believe I forgot.
The only reason I can come up with is that I was just so excited at knowing it marked 1 year exactly till the wedding that I totally forgot it was also our current anniversary.
OH was a bit upset when he realised I had truly forgotten,I think he felt I didnt care enough about him to remember.
I dont know whether to get him a card and give it to him today or if that boat has sailed and I shouldnt bother now.I feel I must do something to make amends but what?

awww what a shame.

I would get your OH a card and just write a wee explanation in it. Maybe get hin a husband card and write 'to be' on the front. and write how you cant wait to be married etc.

Can you get to M&S today? You can always get the Dine for £10 deal (which has a huge amount of options with wine) and have a romantic (day late) evening instead? Then explain that you've been so wrapped up in the details of your wedding planning that you forgot... (as above!)

Thanks,I did buy a card and wrote in it how excited I am to be getting married to him next year,also wrote that growing old and wrinkly together means he can look forward to me forgetting many more anniversaries in the future too.Hope he thinks thats funny,dont want to upset him again.

Great minds - we have done the same thing:D We have always celebrated 27th May as our unofficial anniversary, so I couldn't imagine having any other date when we decided to finally go ahead and do it. (and it's a Wednesday next year...saves a fortune! Better than trying to have a Saturday wedding):rotfl:
