Leg of Pork

 Don't know how, but this did not make it back into the freezer so has defrosted overnight in the garage.

Can I roast it, slice and re-refreeze?

Please tell me yes as already have dinner sorted for the next two nights

Sweet and sour pork for tonight, sausage casserole for tomorrow.
Or can I freeze the sausage casserole, sausages were previosuly frozen?

All help appreciated.

  • Yes Gilly, you can freeze it when roasted. I would make a gravy to freeze it in though as it will stop it being too dry.

You could also freeze the sausages if they were previously frozen when raw but are now cooked.

or cook it, mince it up in the food processor if you have one and make a type of cottage pie or similar and you can freeze that.....
    'Normal' is a dryer setting.

You can roast and refreeze it no problem.

In all honesty though, you could refreeze the pork. At worst, it might affect the quality of the meat, but it isn't a food safety issue so long as it's cooked thoroughly when you defrost it again.

Refreezing food that's been frozen is a quality issue and not one of food safety - but don't tell everyone that!

Thank you all for the replies.

I am going to cook, slice and freeze in gravy with some for sarnies over the next day or so.

    All the best
