im worried it went to easy and dont understand some of it help

right hi guys her we go

the partner decided she was better off without me so i had to leave and go stop at parents thing is we had loads of debts but all in my name which i could not afford on just my income so i had to go bankrupt.

this was given the all ok by the judge and signed at end of sept

now this is where it gets a little scary for me

i went br for 24000 i did the incomings and outgoings thing and it left me about 140 over to play with but i need to find somewhere to live and so my 2 kids can come and stay properley i give them dinners and stuuf in the week so put this down .

the interveiw was a telephone one and i was dreading it after seeing on here they last for ages.well mine lasted just 21 minutes that got me worried

i got a letter from the official receivers a week and a half ago stating that they want me to pay the amount my wages increase from applying a nt code (am i right in thinking then i have to pay my tax each week to them)

this is to be paid until the end of the current financial year (does that mean after april thats it i pay no more?)

the or has said he sent letters out but im still getting calls from people which is worrying

i cant help but woory if this is the endand thats what i need to pay i still keep thinking somewhere in the back of my mind that another letter is gonna drop through the door saying blah blah u need to pay more for like 3 years

Hi yes you will pay what ever tax you would have paid to IR to OR instead until April and then your tax code will be reapplied and nothing paid if there is no surplus over £99, if over £99 then I understand that this a % of between 50 & 70% I am told

    Hi, BJY,
I have had a similar experience...don't worry all is as stated in the above reply to your post by Queen.
My interview lasted about 40 minutes 10 of which was talking about football and the current miserable state of our nation's finances.
What he did tell me though was that after the interview he reports his recommendations to the boss OR. If as I presume in your case he has said all is ok the file is effectively closed only to surface in around 10 months time when the OR applies for you to be discharged. He gave me the impression that if he had decided this at the interview then that was it, he wouldn't be ferretting around my old bank accounts and questioning friends from primary school regarding the whereabouts of my piggybank. I appreciate you can never say never but if you've got the letter about your nil tax code I think you can safely say he isn't going to impose an IPA or restrictions (actually it is an IPA but only for your tax) and will be looking to 'bin' your file so he can get on with sorting out the more complicated cases.
Good luck and keep your head down for the next 10 months.

  • Honestly Bigjonny, it does all sound standard as per the above 2 posters. I doubt there is anything to worry about, just relax, and try a debt free life - it's great, really.

  • thanks for replies guys

he did say at the interveiw they would be looking for a nt code payment

thing is this week i have had a pay rise of about 12 quid a week do i have to inform him of this

the prob is this is also going to be backdated and i will get maybe a couple of hundred quid back pay are they going to take this off me.
  • Im in the same situation. I had the IPA letter last week regarding paying my tax to them instead of directly out of my wages. Im due some back pay this month and also had a rise of around £80 a month. Im just going to give them a ring when I get my payslip and presume they'll tell me what Ive got to do.
