Haggling using debit card

I've always wondered about haggling on the high street. Looking to buy a new digital camera and if I went into say Jessops and haggled the price down and then handed over my debit card would the still acknowledge the price I have been told?
Or would I be better to go in with cash and say this is what I have to spend?

depends if your just haggling or trying to get a "discount for cash"0

If you haggle the price down without mentioning how you are going to pay, how could they argue.
Often it is better to be armed with cash though, then you can always say "could I pay for that by credit card?" and if they say yes then you can always say "how about a little extra off for cash". If you don't ask you don't get! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
If its a debit card, theres usually just a 35p charge irrespective of the value. Credit card its probably 1% of transaction value for the big chains
Therefore i cant see them being unduly concerned about a debit card transaction.0 -
I just haggled in jessops for a fairly high priced item I got the best price I could by using print outs of other (reputable) companies adverts from the internet, then used some gift vouchers I had been given THREE years ago then paid by Visa (1% cashback) card and not a word was said, I got a deal I was happy with, they made a sale they wouldn't have got if they hadn't discounted.
PS Item was new model in fairly short supply as well, so they were not offloading! Like many retailers, they are aware sales could dry up at any time so are prepared to negotiate.0
