Haggling in a jewellers

I'm looking to buy a ring from Ernest jones as an xmas present to myself. I have another ring which I'm wanting to get cleaned there, which I believe costs about £12. When I go to buy the ring can I ask them to clean the ring I have currently free of charge or is it being cheeky? :rotfl:

I'm going to give it a try, I might take my mum though she's so much better than me at haggling.

That's the least you should be asking for!! Just say to them "What's the best price you do on the ring?", they'll knock money off it, I promise! If not, walk away, and go to another store. If they say "you can have it for £x", just say "If you clean this one for me too, i'll buy it".

Honestly, do just that and let us know how you get on. I got £500 off an engagement ring, and they've still made a profit, so both parties happy!
