I just tested it and if you're self employed it won't take you all the way through.. you can still phone them though as i'm pretty sure they have a department for self employed people. Usually you phone and make an appointment when they call you back.:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0

Hi Suzybaby,
It's highly unlikely the OR will take your house, there's no money in it for them and the mortgage is reasonable. You have to live somewhere so unless you have a 9 bedroom mansion  you should be fine.
As far as your boyfriends income is concerned, when you fill in the forms all you need to do is out your income (I assume you'll get some benefits?) and once you've filled in your outgoings you put the figure your bf contributes to the household, which when added to your income should balance with your outgoings (if that makes sense!). The do not need to know his income, only how much he is contributing to the household, not to take any money from him but so you can show that you will be able to survive once you are bankrupt. What he does with the rest of his money is no business of the OR and he will not be expected to contribute a penny towards an IPA.
HTHAccept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Hey thanks peachyprice, I so want to be straight with my affairs, hiding from everyone is a nightmare. I've had a look at the SOA form on the internet and it looks a little confusing :l0

Hi and thanks yeah, i tried it out, I'll probably give them a call tomorrow. I like the idea of an actual meeting with a counsellor as I've rang a couple of bodies up and it's just an operative trying to get you to do an IVA after grilling you with a thunderous amount of questions!0 -

That's usually because they're companies which try and make money out of you

Well just called the CCCS, it's stupid I know and I 'm not writing for sympathy, but I'm crying and all I've done is set up an appointment to talk to a councillor!
First bit of relief seeping out I expect.
First appointment for him to ring is not until 18th Nov.........uh.
"I'll keep, holding on....." as Mick Hucknall sang.
It's bad enough coming to the decision of going bankrupt but then having to convince somebody else is, yuk! I know they have to question your motives but I just want to scream, 'coz I'm in the Sh*t!
Well, the more I read, the more I read! Sometimes it all seems so clear and obvious and then I land on a ladder and go back to the start.
Still dont know about the Barclay card cash card or co op card cz I think I've got debts with every bank under the sun and it seems they're all getting a bit more choosy now. I think that the mastercard is probably the one I'll have to get and pay the £4.95 a month. I'll try the others anyway just for the hell of it
They (debt councillors/OR's etc), are all going to be asking me about the actual figures and details of all my debts and stuff when I don't know! My Dad dealt with everything and now he's in hospital undergoing chemotherapy.( I havn't told him about all this). I have an office full of filing cabinets with masses of paperwork and it would take me a year to sort through it. This is why when someone asks me a question, I just want to run away to the moon! Would it be better to lock the door, wait till the relavant peeps have done thier worst and then just tell me what I have to do!
Well I know that's stupid and that's why I'm here trying to find out what the best thing/s to do and try and relate them to me.
I suppose it's normal to start to get panicky just at the pinnacle of bankruptcy
I'm still smoking and Captain Morgan visits me regularly (tut tut), but I went through divorce with four children 15 years ago and it certainly cant be as bad as that!
sorry for going on, my fingers must have been at the caffeine
Anyway, the dog's fine and I've just found me lighter, Yeay! :j0
