Credit rating / council tax summons

Apologies if this is in the wrong place. Have got behind on council tax and been summonsed to court in mid Jan. I have been told i have lost the luxury of my monthly payments and it must now be paid in full. I have been charged court fees of £42.00 already.
Since then i have got my payments up to date.......but the court is still in progress.
My question is how will it effect my credit rating? Will it effect it at all, and is there a difference if i pay it in full by the court date or wait to see what the court decides.
At present my credit rating is ok, so this is my concern.
Any help or advice appreciated......

If you have paid up in full there is no dispute. You must go to court and represent yourself, they won't bite your hand off, have the receipts and other supporting paperwork to prove your account is up to date, tell the magistrate that you cannot understand why they (the council) are wasting the courts time as you have paid in full? The council will send one of their office bods to defend the case, it is not anything to worry about, the court will be on your side, you will be O.K. You will be in a little room and not a great big courtroom, no wigs, unless you wear one! Your credit rating will not be affected and you will live happily ever after. I have sat before many magistrates, if they are any good they will be on your side."YOU WANT THE CASH? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE CASH"0

In Walsall, the local Ctax office will agree to suspend any court action if you agree to set up a direct debt to make your payments.
This payment is made up of the ongoing monthly amount plus the amount of arrears spread over the remainder of the financial year so in this case your arrears would be spread over 3 months payment, Jan / Feb / March.
But you will need to make contact with the office as soon as possible as the paper work has been generated automatically by a computer and once a person gets involved they can put a hold on the case nd stp any further action.I am a debt counsellor working in the voluntary sector - we don't charge our clients for the work we do!0 -
Hi - Haven't had anything to do with ctax for a long time...but once you default the whole financial year is payable plus costs. If this is paid in full before the court date (incl the costs part) then it's marked as paid in full on the court list.
However if any part is unpaid then the council will apply for a liability order which costs you more money. Sorry don't know how much this is now
A ctax summons doesn't affect your credit rating by the way.
