Not read it as patronising at all. You were right to be concerned given the fact you haven't had an offer from Nationwide yet. Had you been a client of mine, I wouldn't have even provided a quote to you until you had a renewal offer from your current lender, so good work on your part.

Just a quick note to add....

Whilst the likes of Martin promote L&C as they are a national "free free WOM" - because of the business model and the type of company it is, they suffer a high turnover of advisers and take on inexperienced staff, a lot of time time it is thier first mortgage advisory job, so they dont necessarily posses the experience to point out things like waiting for current lender offers......they are trained with a sale in mind and cant see past what is available there and then.....I suspect this is what has happened in this case.....They still have the right to the opinion of "get it now while you can", which to a certain extent this year has been true, but it isnt always the case. These people will ultimately do and say what thier line manager tells them. Not that all L&C advisers are inexperienced, its just thats the danger you face when dealing with such business models.

Just posted on another thread about lenders pulling tracker deals left right and centre at the moment so I would just take your time on what you want. If you want a good tracker now I would suggest you apply within 24 hours from now. C&G withdrawing all of theirs tonight.
