Great result, I am feeling a little emotional.

I fell asleep listening to it on the radio and woke up just after McCain spoke at about 4.45. I was crying the whole way through Obama's speech. It was beautiful. He's an amazing orator.

The Administration at Stormont is fine - it is the Executive that is struggling to cooperate/operate, which IS disappointing.

Barack Obama positioned himself as the candidate of change, and that's also how he's perceived in the wider world - as a clean break from the Bush era.

But one thing he's powerless to change is the thing that helped get him elected - the state of the US economy,

so money savers I'm not sure he is the real deal?

Eh??? So the only worthwhile Pres in your view would be one who can change the state of the economy?

FWIW, I think he can chart a course to get the US out of the hole it is in... maybe not as soon as most people hope but in a realistic timeframe and in a sustainable way. IMHO.

It's not true to say he is powerless to change the state of the economy but he certainly isn't in a position to change it quickly.
Apparently 36k dollars is owed by every US citizen in government debt. No-one is digging their way out from under that debt mountain in a hurry.
