Patio Restaurant, Edinburgh

I'm going to Edinburgh in December for a long weekend and looking to have a meal in the Patio on Hanover Street. The phone's not getting answered - does anyone know if it's still open or not. If not, any idean as to why has it closed down?

Hmm I was about to post but I'm not sure I have anything to add to the article. I went there the week it closed and I've not heard of them re-opening anyway as yet. I'll ask around though.

I think it has closed for good as there was a for sale board outside it the last time I passed (about 6 weeks ago).

I think the couple who owned it have retired - a bit of a shame, as it was an Edinburgh institution.

Oh my, that's a real shame, as it was a great Italian restaurant. Carmella was so welcoming and the way that Jimmy (one of the waiters) reeled off the specials menu from memory was something else.
