    If you still want to buy presents it's probably best to make a list before you go with suitable alternatives if the item you want is unavailable.

    I used to panic buy when the things I wanted were sold out and I'd end up with stuff that was much more expensive just for the sake of it.

    At least if you've thought it through you've got a better chance of staying (sort of ;) ) in budget.

    Trawling the local newspaper classifieds may be a good idea considering you can get ebayers selling christmas items localling as its too late to send out some items intime for christmas.

    Buy yourself a diary to remind yourself to do your Xmas shopping early in 2006 :)
  • I think magazine subscription is a great idea- it lasts all year and the first issue won't come til January anyway! https://www.subscription.co.uk/condenast Ref X511 are offering up to 48% reductions ie Vogue Magazine for £19.99 for 10 issues that's a saving of £14.
