Hi the Sillahs!
For anyone thinking of buying a Freeview box, Martin mentioned they are available for £40, well now you can get them in Asda for £29 - ish, probably also in similar supermarkets & other places.Torgwen.....................

My son thought they had saved enough money by the ad. break!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
I have done reading too!

Got to admit, 5 mins in when Martin told them they were already over £400 a month in credit, my heart sunk0

I thought the husband of that family was really great. Every time Martin told him how much money he was spending he looked really really gobsmacked. Good tip about Sky though. I think I might ring up tonight and see if I can get 50% off.
I love Martin's stripy shirts. My boyfriend wears a lot of shirts like that.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
I was a bit  when the Sky thing was mentioned as I think that's the first time Martin mentioned it in a big way.
If everyone starts doing it, my thinking was that maybe we won't be so lucky with the discounts in future.
I had to pause my Sky+ box when I saw the spreadsheet at the start - they were paying £1320 a month on a mortgage!
It certainly is a case of how the other half lives.
As I type this I haven't seen the programme from 20/12, but this was probably the best of the 8 so far for me.0 -
Great choice of background music! Our House & Return of The Los Palmos 7 by Madness.
On the subject of Mortgages I had my broker over a couple of weeks ago as my discounted period ends soon. Looking at the standard rates after the discount ends, I asked him "Do people actually pay these rates?", to which he replied "You wouldn't believe how many". After seeing this series I can now see his point.
