    If you've only lost half your money you haven't done so badly: you could have bought a nice "safe" share like Royal Bank of Scotland! (loss about 90%)

    But never buy shares from anyone who rings you trying to sell you shares. They are very skilled salespeople and prey on the old, the inexperienced and, yes, the stupid and the greedy. And most of us will be in several of those categories at some point in our lives.
