Yup- this budget is do-able. We are a family of 5 and I can feed us all and buy cleaning stuff for £30-40 using £5 in vouchers.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0

how about this then , take £50 cash with u so u can't spend anymore than that . then if u do come under £50. keep what is left in a pot in the house. her emergancies like ran out of milk , bread etc. and if u have say £4 left by following week , then only withdraw £46 from the bank. and keep all recipets so at the end of the month you can see how well u did.
i hope that makes sence. it does to me.

well then - just back from Tesco - I have spent £49-45 for this week - which includes a dvd for DH [£7-97] a birthday present for DS to take to a party tomorrow [£3-97] as well as some wrapping paper/gift tags and sellotape [£3-08 altogether] which makes £34-35 for my basic shopping
so sort of on target - gives me hope for the future!:rotfl:five children? I must be mad........ :rotfl:

Another option is to hop into Sainsburys in the evening (usually around 9:30 ish, sometimes earlier/later) and buy produce and pre-made meals at Reduced to Clear. The prices can get as low as 10p for organic potatoes, carrots, brocolli etc, and almost always in good condition. Also, if you find a few items in the reduced to clear that are on a special deal (say buy 3 and get one free) then hopefully the items will be rung up as the Reduced to clear price, and then the full price of one of them will be deducted, which often makes all three of them free. This only works if each barcode is scanned in, if the person behind the counter enters the price manually then no deal. I also buy produce at local markets and get great prices, usually paying around £15 or so per week for groceries for two people.I :heart2: Waitrose0
