polystyrene beads

I have a lap tray which is filled with these. Unfortunately there is a hole in the bag and the polystyrene beads are all escaping. I need to make a new bag but how on earth do I go about filling it with the beads? They are clinging to me for dear life. I assume it must be static. Please help

could you not just stitch up the bag under the laptray? or if you can't sew maybe use some wonder web?Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0

No. The bag is too tattered. I need to make another one but I can't see how to get the beads into it without them going everywhere!Jasmine0

You used to be able to buy then in Boyes (my Grandmad used to buy them from there when I was little, twenty years ago).
Boyes store locator: http://www.boyes.co.uk/stores/store_finder.html
ETA: Sorry, misunderstood the question!(will leave my random answer in case it's of any use to anyone else)

jasmine, either a funnel with a large enough hole for beans to go through or fashion a piece of card into a cone shape and tape along the side, again with a large enough hole.
Whilst you are making it from scratch may I suggest making a muslin bag liner, filling the liner with the beans then stuffing the laptray cover with the liner and beads. It's extra work and beanbag chairs use this idea so the covers can be washed - whilst you may not wash it (I don't know if it's detachable or not) you would have the piece of mind of knowing that you'd have to have two bursts for the beans to fall out.
Anyway just a suggestion.0 -

Thanks very much but how do I cope with the static? I managed to catch them all into a poly bag as they escaped from the lap tray but they just seem to want to cling to me or anything that is nearby?Jasmine0
