Tesco question - Not very happy

My husband bought a Tikka meal for two in Tesco this morning as it said it was on special offer.

Said had a big yellow £1.50 off sign above and they were at the end of the aisle where you normally get all of the stuff on special offer.

I have just checked the receipt and he has been charged the full price ie £6.48.

Checked online and it says for deliveries from the 5th.

He is fuming as he says he wouldn't have bought it at £6.48 and the signs should not be up until tomorrow.

If it says 'Special Offer £1.50 off' you don't expect it to be off from 'tomorrow'!

Do you think this is misleading? Should he go back and complain? (we only live 1 mile away).

He said the ones at the end of the aisle didn't have a price on, he got it from the deli counter which is where the reduced signs were.

Surely you can't put a big sign up saying so much off (from tomorrow) as it is misleading.

I recently bought some items in Tesco on the basis that the Shelf Edge Label indicated they were on BOGOF. I checked my till slip before leaving the shop (always a good practice and pointed out in a thread somewhere here on MSE). There was no indication that I had been 'refunded' on one pair of purchases. I took the slip to Customer Services, and we went together to the shelf. In small print on the SEL it said offer available UNTIL 29/10, and this was 30/10. Lots of other items (light bulbs) also had the BOGOF offer also expired the day before. However I was refunded my BOGOF because the SEL was still in place. As you are close to the shop always worth making a case at with CS.

Go and get ya money back; they are happy enough to take it off you.

Tesco labelling really annoys me; half the cheap items they dont put labels up for, and then they leave labels on for offers that finished days ago, and then expect you to be in the wrong when you get to the till and havent read the expiry date!!

Thanks for your advice folks.

I will have to get back there tonight as the price def changes tomorrow according to their website so if I go then they will say 'Well it only started today not yesterday'.

Well, he has just arrived back.

He went to re check the sign first before going to CS.

Good job that he did.

The offer didn't include the one that he bought which was the Balti one.

Now if I had been shopping I would have double checked.

Oh well, at least he says it is off his mind now.
