Dealing with creditors

Thanks again to everyone who helped me with my post last week, I still haven't had chance to post my SOA but will be doing ASAP.

We have decided that bankruptcy is the route we are going down, the sheer amount of debt is too much and there's no light at the end of the tunnel. It's been affecting our quality of life and i'm making myself snap out of worrying so much and concentrating on my toddler and baby.

I'm trying to be positive and keep thinking of BR in the new year once we are in a position to do so. However one of my creditors MBNA have sent my debt to RMD and the guy that keeps phoning me is sooooooo aggressive. I've told him again this morning that i'm in contact with the CCCS and everything is in writing but he won't accept this. He's said he's going to phone me every day until I pay. Straight after phoning me a text has come to my mobile telling me to phone them immediately. What am I best saying??? Tried to phone the CCCS this morning but they are chocablock.

Thanks as always, from a harrassed mummy x x

  • does he ring "witheld number"? even so, i dont answer any withelds, if you know his id caller number, press the red button on your phone to voicemal, if they get abusive at least you have it on record.

send him a copy of your BO the same day its done, after that, should he ring, remind him that he is committing an offence of harassment and you are entitled to go to the police

and report him to his company

or do you want me to pop round and "av a word wiv him"
  • dont ring him, but save the texts.....
  • same as max ignore the calls and save all the texts report to bt to block the calls on landline
BSC 160 that's me! :j 2 years to go before I qualify... and am let loose on the public

Re calls I agree with both Max and DISETGI.

If BR is definitely the correct route for you, then why wait till New Year? You can then give them your BR number. Whatever the right decision is for you, I think that action sooner rather than later should help. Try to find the time to post your SOA up soon.:D I hope you don't think that I'm adding to your harrassement. I just want to encourage you to keep going and get the support here you need. We could not have got through the last month without this forum!

Take care and enjoy your day with your little ones, ODx

  • hey, tell em the chques in the post..............pmsl

    times ive heard that one
  • His number actually comes up so will ring BT now that's a great idea. Will also ignore withheld calls too. If he's persistent/tries to ring from a different no and I do answer if I were to be awkward and refuse to answer the security questions can he still speak to me about it?? Surely after a few weeks he'd get bored of that???

I cannot tell you how aggressive and angry he sounded. I need to remember it's just someone in a call centre that earns commission.

The reason for waiting for the new year is we are trying to sell our home, if the house sells then we may avoid bankruptcy. I think the chances are very slim as nothing round here is selling and my neighbours home is up undervalue. We have been advised by the CCCS to save our mortgage payments for a rent deposit too so we can privately rent x
