Hi Stacydaisy
I think it may depend on the bank. A&L will only take £5 at a time and that has to be correctly bagged up.
Years ago a bank was there to handle money in whatever shape or form it came in. Now they can pick and choose...

Depends which bank....a proper bank will usually take any amount as long as it is in full bags.
The building societies that are now banks, are often limited to 5 bags per day, Abbey & Halifax etc.
Which bank are you using?Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
hsbc somtimes i fell the cashier turn they nose up at us when we got change lol cant believe im nervous putting change in the bank0

if you're with hsbc, you can use their coin machines (like the coinstar ones in supermarket but they don't take 8% commission) and it gets paid into your bank account.0

If you have a childs account that you can use they can take as much as you have as long as it is bagged up correctly and you dont go in at peak times.0

Stacey, I work for myself and have to bank a lot of change each week....not pound coins or 50ps either

I love watching the cashiers cringe when they see me and how they either seem to go slow or hurry up to grab the customer in front of me. :rotfl:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

As long as its bagged up my local Lloyds take it..
Took £180 pound yesterday, lots of £2 coins..
But did take £56 of copper the other week!
The way banks are at the moment they are grateful for any deposit!0 -
