Dog Walking

Options
I'd like to start offering a dog walking service locally.
I was thinking of charging £5 an hour (£5 would be for 2 dogs if owner had more than one).
I was just wondering how to go about starting up.
What would you recommend?
Going door to door? Posting leaflets?
Any help would be great.
Thanks xxx

I charge £6 for half an hour walk two dogs £7 put an advert in the local pet shop vets etc dont walk too many dogs together. I saw one woman who is a dog walker signed van etc walking 6 and she had no control over any of them I nearly knocked one down it ran into the road I gave her a piece of my mind. Go somewhere where people walk dogs and stick up a poster.
    Hope this helps
  • Thinking about it, charging per half hour would probably be better.
How many dogs would you suggest walking at a time? Would it be better sticking to just a couple at a time? xxx

In my HO I think how many dogs you can walk depends on the dogs. I think you would have to meet the dogs first and see how they behave to people, other dogs etc.. If you have small dogs that are more cushion dogs and don't really care about the surroundings, you can take 3 dogs easily.
However if you have big dogs that chase every cat then you might even need to take them 1 by 1.

The dogs also need to get on I also have 6 of my own so have to walk them and dont want to spend all day walking I usually make about £60 from walking but as I said I train dogs and I am a dog groomer hope this helps
