Clothes Swapping Party

On our local freecycle board there is an advert for a 'Sustainable Clothes Swapping Event'. To be held in a local village hall.
That sounds like a good idea. I'm sure they don't have to be sustainable-clothes, just any reasonable good condition item that you'd be happy to pass on will do! It says on the notice that they have to be in good clean condition.
Has anyone been to one?
I've got far too many things that someone might like, many still with tags on. Yes, I know, not very MSE to have bought them in the first place! So I'd love to go, and probably will, but I can't get any info about what the 'rules' are.
Any ideas? I don't want to sound mean but I don't want to take four or five decent outfits if all I end up with is a T-shirt. Oh, OK that does sound mean and probably isn't in the spirit of things! I need to just adjust my thinking a bit, after all I'm more than happy to give things away on Freecycle.
Apart from having seen a similar event on TV (and I can't imagine this village being filled with designer kit), I don't know anything about them and would love to hear of other experiences.
