Legitimate means of transferring money to UK from overseas

hi all

i have some income from family property that has come to me in ghana, and i want to legally avoid paying unecessary tax on this, as i would like to transfer the proceeds of the sale to the uk. this could amount to £30-£40k.

apparently western union is not an option?... i was wondering if there are any money savers with advice/experience re this type of issue.

best thing you can do is let the tax people know because if you dont you will be in for 1 hell of a fine.

thanks for the advice, but i am not looking to do anything illegal, but there are bound to be legitimate ways of doing this; hence my question really. thanks again

Your definition of legal and HMRC's definition of legal when it comes to tax, I suspect, are very different. What type of income is it, profit from the sale of property, farming income, rental? it really depends what it is and if any tax been paid on it it Ghana.
