... the telephone calls!
I've got my BR hearing date confirmed for mid December, so I've cancelled all my creditor DD's from my current account last week (so that I can save that money this month for the BR fees) and even though it's only been a couple of days since, the phones are on fire!
It's ringing like a dozen times a day, even on a Sunday (poor show!), and my mobile's the same... I have all the creditors' numbers stored so I know it's them calling me...
It's going to be a LONG 6 weeks wait if it carries on like this.

I know what you mean ... had loads everyday and was sitting at my desk at work getting embaressed coz no one could understand why it rang so much and I never answered it
Never once thought of putting it on silent:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
Well as you have them programmed in, it's easy to ignore or block the numbers! also do not answer any security questions. Easy said than done, good luckBSC 160 that's me! :j 2 years to go before I qualify... and am let loose on the public :rolleyes:0

Never give your mobile number or your work number to these vulchers you dont have to, your home number they will have from your original application with them, when they ask you for either just say i would rather not they cant force you its totally illegal.0

Best advice I can give is change your phone number! I had to do it - twice! But if you want to be stress free, change your number and give it out on strictly a need to know basis! It is not worthwhile you sitting at home dreading it every time the phone rings, I did and it really made me depressed and I found it really hard to cope. So my advice is don't put yourself through it. Change your number.
Even if you ask them to stop calling, they won't. You probably will find that your provider will change your number free of charge for both your mobile and your landline if you tell them you are getting nuisance calls.
Hope things get better for you.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
Or just don't answer withheld numbers or ones you know are from DCA's
Mine only had my mobile number from when I was originally dealing with them regarding payment plans.:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
Oh and they will get sneaky. They will call form withheld numbers too to try and get you to answer. best of luck!

Cheers for the replies!
My home landline is now on a permanent answermachine... if they don't leave a message then I ignore it. Anyone who needs to contact me personally will leave a message...
Luckily they don't have a works number for me. I'm out on the road most of the working day anyway.
And my mobile has all the creditors numbers stored in it with appropriate names, eg- "MBNA - Dont Answer!"...!
It's just amazing how persistently these people will chase any snifter of a late payment or possible default, isn't it?!:j BR on 09/12/08 :j

I did the same with my mobile. I just typed them in as "ignore 1, ignore 2" etc etc.
I also got really fed up and would put them in my phone with the channel number for rock music on the tv and when they rang I would turn to that channel, turn the music right up and then answer! And would say nothing!

Hi,
What a pain!!
I actually wrote to all my creditors told them I was so stressed
by the calls that I was seeking medical help and my family had also been severely distressed. I therefore required any further contact to be made by correspondence only. I also told them I had taken advice and understood there were industry guidelines regarding these things (send it recorded)
It is innapropriate for them to call you at work (even on a mobile) as it is a private matter and there are guidelines which they should follow so a quick letter explaining that you might take the matter further should help to reduce or even eliminate the calls.
Good luck:beer:Officially B.R 08.09.08 :beer:0
