Returning Goods To Asda

Stupid question realy, but I bought a jacket at Asda last week together with some other clothing, took the tags off and put them away.
I have decided on trying on the jacket again I don't like it much but although I have the receipt I don't have the price tag on it.It's not been worn, that's obvious but I don't know whether to take the time to travel the hour each way if they won't take it back without the tag.Anyone done this with success or will I be wasting my time.

The receipt should have the phone number of the store you went to on it, somewhere near the top. Maybe just ring them and tell them the situation and see what they say.
I'm so sorry if you were enjoying this thread and mine is the last post!!
I seem to have a nasty habit of killing threads!

Hi MRSTITTLEMOUSE,
I've always found Asda to be very good with returns but without the tags it might be more difficult. If I was you I'd phone the store to explain the problem and see what they say before deciding to travel.
As this is more of a shopping thread than Old Style, I'll move it over to the Shop but Don't Drop board to see if any of the experts there know what Asda's policy is.

It probably differs between stores and between particular members of staff. I once returned a t-shirt that my daughter had worn without a receipt or labels because the transfer was cracked after one wash and they gave back the money no question. In the same store I tried to return a birthday present (cost £45) my son got without a receipt and even though they had the item still on the shelves they wouldn't entertain exchanging it or refunding it even on a gift card. They said I could have bought it anywhere. It didn't make any difference that they were selling it half price and I could have got double by lying and taking it to woolies or somewhere.0

I took a coat back with all the tags off and a receipt and they gave me my money back straightaway.0

If it has George tags on the inside then I'm pretty sure they will take it back with the receipt. I've taken back goods without receipts and they have given me my money back before.1st son born 11/02/05 2nd son born 09/01/08
thats all i'm adding to the human race so think yourselfs lucky lol0
