Moorcroft Debt Recovery

Okay I did post last week but I didn't get across what I should have and need to ask again

Right, we are on a DMP with Payplan but I did not include the Argos debt of £800 for whatever reason. Dumb huh !

Anyway, I now owe three months instalments and Moorcroft have written to me. I called them and they were really unhelpful. The debt is approx £120 and they are asking for £40 now then to pay them £12 a week until the WHOLE Debt is cleared. Oh my Goodness, That will take ages and I just do not know what to do. Should I bite the bullet and say that I cannot afford the debt anymore and arrange my own DMP with them. tell them we have recently gone onto a DMP with Payplan or what. I cannot go to court I am worried sick and all because I thought I could manage a debt that I couldn't. Feel a real idiot and need someone elses advice as my head is going round and round in circles.

Well if you can manage the amounts you will have paid it off in 64 weeks but what I dont understand is why you are not getting in touch with payplan and getting them to take over the worry and stress. How long have you been in you dmp for?

Firstly they will not take you to court for this amount . If you can only afford £5 a month than send them that , they will moan and grown, but stand firm . It would cost them hundreds of pounds to go to court , but a Judge will only award them an amount you can afford .
  • annamac75 Thanks for the advice. I did not tell Payplan at the beginning as we hoped to be able to pay off the debt but they are famous last words. I have had the DMP now for just over a year and if I tell them that I have a debt to add, God knows what they are gonna think.

Do I write to MoorCroft ( horrible people there) and explain that I am on a DMP and need to work out a way to repay or what?. Just do not know what to do

    Thanks for all your advice
  • Tell Payplan about the problem - why not add it to the plan, we too have had bad dealings with moorcroft...!
  • I did same thing with CCCS and missed a debt off. I worried about telling CCCS to but I just rung and said look some how i missed this, they were fine and sorted it out. Go to Payplan they can't help with the whole picture if they don't know everything.
Its time to nut up or shut up......!
