When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I will:
Woke up full of a cold this morning which is not good news as I am going away with OH tomorrow for a few days to the Lakes:rolleyes: Will raid medecine cupboard and see if I can chase it away.
Hope you all have a good day, hi to ll the regulars and welcome to any new posters:D . Catch up with you all later:D

Hello everyone
Glad you're going for a break sophiesmum - the Lakes are lovely!
I've had a few un productive days as have been ill but at least that mainly means no spending ( I say mainly 'cos OH did the weekly food shop) even if the house looks a tip. Still not right so no big list for me today.
At the end of last week had a free meal at a new restaurant and also have been paid my first ever quidco earnings, courtesy of this site. Although I find managing money an endless struggle ( there's always SOMETHING to sort out!) it is this site and this thread which keep me on track. Big thanks to all who post, especially sophiesmum, andan and her lists and everyone else who makes the journey a bit easier.
Blimey - that was a bit of a speech - I think I'll go and lie down
Belle
xGetting there...slowly!
GC : must do better
NSD: very rare
No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.0 -
Hi all - I was listing on Ebay until 11 last night (zzzzzzzzzz) and even if I make £15, I'll consider it a success as it really was stuff that was up the loft;
The clearour continued this morning and I've put some stuff into the charity shop - not moneysaving for me but it will be for someone else;
7p noodles, Quorn and veg for dinner tonight;
Lunch in the subsidised staff canteen;
Will do some comps tonight;
Trying to clear some space on the hard drive of my PC to avoid the need to get a new one.
Not great, but steps in the right direction!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
