Wii games, which one do I buy?

Hi,
I hope I have posted this on the right board! My sister is buying her 3 kids a Wii to share for Xmas, they are 2 girls age 10 and 8 and a boy age 6.

I don't actually know what games she is getting with it, and know very little about the Wii but thought maybe games for Xmas would be a good idea, even if a shared present between the 3 of them. I usually spend £20 on each of them and was looking for some advice.

Anyone with kids about that age, or someone who knows whats hot and not in Wii games to give me some advice. My other sister has bought them some Mario game but has had to buy extra bits so they can play it and she has worked out its about £18 on each of them?

I look forward to any advice on what games you think are really good, I also would like to know the cheapest way of buying them obviously!

Thank you in advance!

    hi

a good website for searching for prices is http://www.find-games.co.uk/

mario kart is probably the game your sister has bought, you can use it with a stearing wheel but you can also use it with the nunchuck. a good game my daughter likes is mario party 8 great game which can take up to 4 players with loads of mini games and i also like playing this one of my favourite mini games is shaking the coke can to see who can to see who can get the highest spray.

carnival games is another good one, lots of different mini games plus they can play it together if you head over to amazon they have it for £9.98 at the mo a good game which my 6 year old daughter and 9 year old son like to play.

may order carnival games mini golf for the kids and grandad at christmas as he loves playing the golf games.

ps your sister may have to purchase some extra wii remotes and nunchucks (not cheap), mario party 8 will have to have extra remotes and nunchucks to be played by more than one player. carnival games if i remember right can be played with 1 remote with more than 2 people. hope this makes sense.

    Hi

I have children g10, g8 and b6 and I bought them a wii last christmas. They have quite a few games now, but Mario Kart is the one they play the most. They also like Wii Sports and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. They have a few games they never play (Bratz, Wall-e, Sonic Rings). My middle daughter plays the Pippa Funnell game occasionally.

I agree very much with the above - extra remotes and nunchucks are a must. The Mario games seem to be the best for them, they're certainly the ones they love. Having said this, for all the expense, it gets switched on about once a month now as the excitement of having it wore off after about a month :(

  • I'd recommend Mario & Sonic at the Olympics, Mario Kart, Surf's Up, The Sims 2 Castaway and The Simpsons Game.

I have 4 children aged 13, 11, 7 and 22 months and the older three all enjoy the games listed above.

I'd also echo the need for another nunchuck & controller .... if you buy Wiiplay you get a wiimote (controller) with it for around £28-£30, so you might want to get them Wii Play (which has lots of mini games) and maybe Surf's Up? You can find Surf's Up for about £15 so that would be £45 for both (2 games and an extra controller).

  • I'm with Homespun, my son got his Wii for christmas two years ago and for most of this year is has been gathering dust:confused: , although he has just started playing Mario and Sonic at the Olympics again, this game has been reduced in most stores I think since the olympics have finished, but it is still a decent game and multiplayer too.

    It's only a game
