Won a week accomodation in Tenerife... I believe it is a scam.

Hi!
Today I have received a call from a person that said that I have entered a competition called something like "island competition" and from her first word until the last one I thought it was some kind of scam. She said I won a week accomodation in Tenerife (she said "yaih!", I didn't react) and then asked me how I was doing, if I owned my home, if I was struggling to pay the rent etc.
Then she said the name of the hotel and said that the flight costs £99 per person. If this is a win, then I should have the choice of buying the flight by myself, right?
I think it is from this competition:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=681845&highlight=canary+island+competition
which I have entered probably because I didn't know it was a timeshare company.
So, what I want with this post is to be reassured that I am right in thinking that this is no win and also to warn all those people that are going to receive the same call. There will be at least 100
I would really love to hear your opinion.
Thank you!

Definitely a timeshare scam as it says on the post you linked to. There wont be 100 people from here though as it was flagged as a scam when only 14 MSErs had entered. Unfortunately for you, you were one of the 14 back in January!Al Mac Appreciation Society (AMAS) member # 6½

There will be 100 from somewhere else and I am hoping they find this through a search engine. Unfortunately, when I entered the competition, the information of it being a timeshare was not there. It happens
but fortunately I don't fall into these scams of paying for a "win".
Thank you for confirming that this is a scam!Goal: Win a car (or cash to buy one
