What can I buy for my mum?

I want to buy a present for my mum to say thanks for just being a great mum. She has brought me and my siblings up mostly on her own and although she is now 70 is much younger in mind and spirit, still works and drives and does a lot and is very fit and active.

She is a prolific reader and I would describe her as 'intellectual' so likes a lot of highbrow stuff, reads loads etc.

I'm just not sure what to get her. We have already in the past bought her spa days out and relaxing treatments and so forth which she enjoyed but I just wish I could find something really original, that doesn't cost a fortune that she would really like.

She's not materialistic and not into fancy gadgets or bling or anything and doesn't need anything as such.

Any suggestions  (nothing lewd)

    That's a fab idea :)

Anyone know of any online sites which offer the pillow at a cheap price?

How about a home made voucher for a day out for you two. Take her somewhere she loves (maybe visit a stately home or a museum, or even a walk on the beach) and treat her to lunch and spend the day with her - maybe you do this already but i dont see my mum much and something like this would mean the world to her.

  • How about mak.ing a scrapbook for her, filling it with photos right from when you were little. The great thing is you can add memories into them as well. I did one for my mum's 60th Birthday and she absolutely loved it as it was so personal.
