Online Exchange- Any Good Sites?

Options
Hi. First of all, I'm a long time lurker and I love the help this site has given me to save money. And hello to everyone :D

Anyway, now to the reason I posted. I've got some DVD's and games that I want to sell, which I haven't been able to sell on Ebay, and I need to sell them to raise some money for Christmas. So I was wondering if there were any good sites out there which I could use to exchange them for cash.

The only site I have been able to find so far is a site called CeX.co.uk, and their prices are reasonable on some stuff and pretty poor on others.

So does anyone know of any good sites for exchanging stuff like games and DVD's?

I use https://www.swapshop.co.uk, but it's not for cash. You get points which you can spend on other things.

    Or try Amazon marketplace.

  • ive used both cex and tradeyourstuff.co.uk in the past

or just pop into your high street and go to game or gamestation or even blockbusters - i would recommend tradeyourstuff though - others here have been using them too i think
  • As the others have said, try amazon marketplace, they only charge if the item sells, which is quite cool.

CeX, as much as I loathe the place, do offer very good prices on goods, but I would avoid sending stuff via the web to trade, others have expeirenced a lot of problems with their web service It's far easier (and quicker) to just pop into one of their shops to sell your stuff, although I would go before lunchtime to avoid massive queue's.

I think Amazon MArketplace charge 15% for a sale? I did it a few years ago....it seemed quite a lot for me at the time...! but wanted to get rid of the goods - unwanted present.

The other thing is some marketplace items, if they are popular and have been out for some time are really cheap and won't make you much (you can find studd there for 1p)

    Hi

New member here as well

In response to the OP, I do not know of any sites for exchange, but if you find anything good let us know, as I may be having a massive DVD sort out as well soon (to make room for more new ones :D )

However, as a bit of a disgruntled-with-ebay-fees-and-feedback-changes person, I was guided to another aution site that has been around for a long time (since 1999 it says) but not as prominant as Ebay (though I suspect this may change), called Ebid (just google for it)

The thing I liked about ebid is the fact for a basic auction you pay NO listing fee, and pay a % if the item sells (all the rates are on the site so you can look to see exactly what fits for you). I have my car on there (not sold yet), but I took their offer up of a one off (NOT annual) membership fee and you pay no selling fees either forever. This workes out cheaper than the % IF (BIG IF) my car sells. But I will then have it forever instead of Ebay

So this may be better for you, list the DVD's, if they do not sell, you dont pay anything (better than Ebay in that respect I personally think)

If anyone has any experiences with Ebid themselves (not the buyers or sellers) please let us know. I have had no problems so far, and found the listings easy to do

Whatever you decide to do, then Good Luck :j
