Mushroom flavoured pasta

This might seem weird, but I've never seen it in the UK - I had some in France and loved it!

Any thoughts?

It's the actual pasta itself that's got mushroom in though, not a sauce.

This stuff in Iceland, is a Dry packet that contains Pasta too. But I think I have seen Pasta Shells in Sainsbury Continental / Posh Range or Waitrose that were Mushroom flavour

No folks, what cougar means is not the sauce, or the filling in pasta cushions such as ravioli, tortellini etc.

He/she means that the actual pasta has been made with flour mixed with ground mushrooms, just as green lasagne or tagliatelle are made with flour mixed with pureed spinach.

The mushroom pasta is not very common but you can occasionally get it in the "trendy" sections of the better supermarkets. Of course if you come with me to Italy when I visit my mum, you get the real thing just made a couple of hours before..... :p:D

  • That thank you is for explaining what I mean! I'll keep having a look, I think M&S is the only hope in Derby!

Sure I've seen that - a sort of deep grey/beige dried pasta - in the fancy food bit of my local Garson's Garden Centre.

Do you have anything like that?

Maybe a real top of the range Farm Shop or something?

The best bet is to go to posh areas, where supermarkets usually have trendy sections. My local Sainsbury in Chiswick, London, has some very unusual continental stuff, and some makes of Italian and French food I never thought I'd see outside Italy or France.

Thanks for the tips on such an obscure I-wanna-buy-it item!

I'll let you know if I find any!
