Oyster discount at Ealing Broadway station

Hi,
Apologies if this has already been posted.

For anyone that buys travel cards on Oyster and lives near Ealing; If you buy your travelcard at the counter (ie not from the machines) then the next time you go to renew it you can get a 10% discount.

I did this yesterday and paid £98 instead of £109 for 1-3 monthly.

As far as I'm aware you can get this discount with each renewal as long as you use the counter. Not sure if it applies to weekly cards too-but worth asking.

Hope this helps someone :D

    Interesting!

Can you say what this discount is for and/or if it is offered at other underground stations?

How did you find out about it?

    Thanks

When I asked them why, they just said it was to encourage people to buy their tickets at Ealing Broadway.

I found out about it last month when I originally went to the machines to renew my ticket but, as the option wasn't there, I ended up queueing up at the counters. The guy then asked me where I'd bought my last ticket and mentioned the discount.

I'll admit I was sceptical, but yesterday I was renewing my travelcard, went to the counter and mentioned the discount and 'Hey presto'. :T

I don't know how long it will be on for and if it's a case of you having to ask to get it.

Ps, not sure about other stations. EB has recently had new machines installed so this might be something to do with it.
