Watch out for spam when you get your new gmail account, not at the gmail address, but your existing address that you gave gmail when you registered.

I have noticed spam coming through to my onetel.com account which has references to my new gmail account name in it (if you scan the headers).

Last one was offering cheap Micro$oft packages in US$.

How can this happen unless gmail are making the addresses available - when they promised not to?

Any comments anyone?

no this is not true - i have a gmail account from a private person, and there has not been 1 spam message

but my original email has tons of spam, from forums like these - spammers use software that harvests email addresses - you leave it on and it checks every post for emails
thats why when you must post ur email on a board or forum post it like this
