not bothering then. happy where i am.
  • I can't understand the apathy. You're turning down a FREE £100?

This offer used to be £75 about 18 months - 2 years ago. I transferred a seldom used current account (which had no direct debits or anything on it) and agreed to pay my wages in for 2 months and got the £75 with no problem at all.

I have no reason to suspect they will not honour the £100 offer. If you don't want to transfer your wages, you don't have to. But you do have to credit the account with £1,250 for 2 months. If you have this amount sitting in a savings account you could direct debit it across and back twice.

£100 interest for doing very little I think.

I submitted the request for information and application form, but:

    (a)  The pack was incompletely addressed.  Postie worked it out from the postcode, but do you really want to entrust your working finances to an outfit who can't get the first approach correct?

    (b)  If you're happy with your current banking (I am  - First Direct for 14+ years) is £100 really a big deal in the grand scheme of things?

    (c)  I told the semi-persistent salesperson who kept calling about (a) and (b), and she she just said "oh, alright then" without any further protest.

Looks to me like an ill thought-out campaign to buy-in customers at NatWest.  I bet it's existing customers who are first to suffer when the infrastructure fails to attract the right extra clients.

I netted £200 in compensation when Zurich launched an all-singing, all-dancing product a couple of years ago, only to pull it after six months.  The difference was that they never had my day to day banking affairs in their grasp.  If we are to play the moneysavingexpert game effectively, I reckon we need a nippy player to carry out our transactions efficiently.
  • I tried to apply through that link, but although I filled in every box, it kept saying I had not completed all the mandatory information....

    Any ideas ???

I got the pack, but I don't understand the tick boxes... there's a grayed out cross in them, so do you have to tick the boxes if you mean yes and put a cross in when you mean no? I am tempted, but don't want to transfer my wages...

    Any ideas?
No reliance should be placed on the above.

Sorry but I'm extremely happy with my current bank and I don't think £100 is anywhere near enough to make me want to shift.
I certainly wouldn't want to move all my direct debits and standing orders over and then move them back again.
Maybe someone will come up with an offer big enough to tempt me, but it would have to be a sizeable pot of money.
You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.
