  • Thanks owtfornowt, but I've got a question for anyone who knows about football games.

Owtfornowt says this is a great game. I'm after a football management game for PS2 or a PC. Is this the best game?

Pro-Evolution Soccer isn't an option, but I'd be interested in opinions about other games and where they could be purchased.

I suggest a "2008" might be the best option so I don't have to pay full price. ;)

    Thanks very much.

Have a look on play, amazon, ebay, or a look round blockbusters or gamestation,
I guess most of the large retailers will have 2008 games at very low prices now

Doubt if you'll get a freebie one

Football manager is the way to go. Get an older version and if you find that you like that then buy the newer version. There are websites that you can download a 'patch' from so that all the transfers are upto date on football manager 2008 so that could be an option.

I always get ones that are a few years old usually practically the same game but without the updated stats

The football management genre is owned by 2 names:
    Championship Manager
    Football Manager

Football Manager is made by the people who used to make Championship Manager. Due to parting from publishers Eidos, SI Games who created champ manager joined Sega to create Football Manager. This has years and years of development in it.

Championship Manager is made by a put together development team by Eidos made up of some professional developers. They have a LOT of things to iron out though.

So yes Football Manager is really the only good name in the management world :) And the new one is always good, and cheap! Usually can be found for £20 when released somewhere!
