My old vacuum cleaner finally gave up the ghost after many years of faithful, trouble free service. I spent hours on the net researching prices and reviews and finally selected this one from Amazon.
Cost £69.99 and the same one in argos is 139.99 so I was quite chuffed with my saving. It has great reviews .... I haven't used it yet but hubby is very happy with his new toy lol.... said it is great ... the hose reaches all the way up the stairs, hey he can even clean up in the dark , it has a light on it lol.

Thank you for this. I work for a charity. We don't have a lot of cash and some muppet killed the hoover the other day (I only noticed after our volunteer turned it on and it spewed dust out like it was a geyser...it was quite a visual - both of us trying to pull the plug out while he attempted to stem the flow with his size 10 foot over the offending vent )

Needless to say this is going to be our new hoover for the office. Hopefully it will keep going for many many many years

I also used the Amazon 'prime' to get free next day delivery. It costs £49 per annum membership but I signed up for a free months trial - will have to remember to cancel it or my hoover won't be such a good buy lol.

Hi there - thanks for pointing this out. It might be just what I need. This might be a daft question but is this any good on laminate as well as carpet?

Also, can anyone tell me how how tall it is - I just need to see if it would fit in the cupboard!

Amazon are going mad! now the top of the range VAX Mach 7 is half price at £99. Popped into Curry's to check it over, it is a bit heavyish as many people say but hey! its on wheels.. unless you live in a lighthouse. No doubts about its cleaning power though according to most reviews across the web so mines on order. (Amazon one is newer higher powered black one, the one Curry's try to charge £249 for is an older slightly lower powered silver one)
