hi,
I ordered some Lily Lolo tester pots awhile in 4 different shades and three of them appear to look fine ... I'm unsure what I should be looking for though...
Any ideas?

What you should be looking for on your skin, you mean? The old trick of putting a stripe of colour on the skin along your jawline and seeing which one "disappears" into your skin is a good one.
Mineral make-up is that bit more forgiving, shade-wise, as the colour is blended almost into the skin rather than sitting on top. I can wear Lily Lolo Porcelain, Blondie or Candy Cane and all look fine, but Porcelain can make me look just a fraction too pale, and Candy Cane just a fraction too pink, but Blondie is yellow toned like my skin and blends in beautifully.Egg Loan - [strike]£4921.84[/strike] £0!! :j Barclaycard - £3866.47 Legal + Trade - [strike]£2700.96[/strike] £0!! :j Triton - [strike]£1730.89[/strike] £0!! :j Next - [STRIKE]£776.15[/STRIKE] £126.88 Littlewoods - [strike]£217.16[/strike] £0!! :j Housemate - [strike]£1300[/strike] £0!! :j Capital One - [STRIKE]£1652.51[/STRIKE] £1,081.58 Vanquis - [strike]£2337.75[/strike] £375.58

lol those are the shades I ordered!! I tried the Porcelain today and it didnt seem to do much but the Blondie and candy cane look fine ..
What should I do with the concealer and the finishing powder?
It all seemed too much as I am more of a natural sort of person ...

With normal make-up, I use foundation first and then just concealer where really needed, but with L.L I find that the concealer can look too obvious if used on top, so I use it first where I think it will be needed, and then take the foundation over the top and blend them into one another. More often than not I don't bother with the concealer, I just build up the foundation a little on the dodgy areas. You don't need to use all three products if you feel it's too much.
I use the Flawless Silk powder with a very light touch over the top of the foundation, adding slightly more on cheekbones. The Flawless Silk makes my skin look radiant and healthy, whereas the Flawless Matte I found looked a bit too heavy, no matter how little I used.Egg Loan - [strike]£4921.84[/strike] £0!! :j Barclaycard - £3866.47 Legal + Trade - [strike]£2700.96[/strike] £0!! :j Triton - [strike]£1730.89[/strike] £0!! :j Next - [STRIKE]£776.15[/STRIKE] £126.88 Littlewoods - [strike]£217.16[/strike] £0!! :j Housemate - [strike]£1300[/strike] £0!! :j Capital One - [STRIKE]£1652.51[/STRIKE] £1,081.58 Vanquis - [strike]£2337.75[/strike] £375.58

There is a great thread - headed mineral make up - or similar!
You'll find loads of tips on it!Genie

I will give those a go tommorrow in the morning when there is natural light as under my bedroom light I couldnt see any difference...
I think Lily Lolo is good value too, there's another current thread about and theyre talking about paying £22 for foundation... not sure how long it will last though. I lnow my tester pots have lasted awhile though - definitely 5/6 uses.

Concealer UNDER the foundation to cover zits. For bits that need that bit more help i just use a concealer brush to apply a tiny bit more foundation mineral. Dont forget to leave the make up to "work" for 10 mins before going back over any problem areas as usually once the minerals have warmed to the skin the coverage is enough0

I also use Lily Lolo and had difficulty choosing between shades the first time I used it. It was a choice between Candy Cane and Blondie, so I put both of them on different sides of my face IYSWIM? then I went outside with a mirror for plenty of natural light, and had a good look. Although it was fairly close between the two, for some reason the candy cane just looked a bit more 'right'. I was surprised as I have yellow-toned skin, but I think the pink counteracted that and made it look less yellow and more even.
I also don't bother with the concealor, I just apply my foundation, then anywhere that needs extra coverage (spots, dark circles!) I use an eyeshadow brush to apply a bit more. However my sister who also uses LL, says she really likes the concealer, so I guess it's personal preference.0
