Also British gas are now chasing me with really high bills
Are these bills based on (A) actual meter readings or (E) Estimate?

I think that they are meter readings, when I phone British Gas I can not get sense out of them and end up with some rude snotty person.

Have a look at the readings on your bills, alongside the meter reading it will say (A) actual (Means someones been out and read your meter) or (E) estimate, a guess what you've used.

You have to be certain they are billing you for what you've actually used, and not what they think you've used.

Will have to have a look for a statement from them I only have letters at the moment. They did not send me a statement just a letter saying how much I owed.

Just checked a statement it is estimate grrrr.

Southern electric that I am with now has really shocked me, they had a meter reading back in september I gave them a new one last week, this is for my gas which I only use for heating and shockingly my bill has shot up by another 70 pound. There is no way I am using that much.

I had a feeling it may have been, you need to go back and make sure they only bill you for the consumption you've used.

When you call them ask for a supervisor ;)

Edit: Futher advice, click here and post in the utilities forum re your bills, see if anyone can give you further advice.

    Good luck

Why is your TB licence so high (should be £11.95 per month?)
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

I am a little behind with payments so trying to pay 10 pound a week to get it sorted. Normally it is about 6.50 every 2 weeeks so that makes it 13 pound a month.

I think my payment amounts have just gone up as well but not sure, I am so bad when it comes to money.

You are showing a surplus on paper, but I suspect that is not the reality.

I would suggest starting a spending diary tomorrow and writing down absolutely everything you spend any money on - even just a few pence. It will soon show you where the money is really going - and once you know that, you can start to reduce your expenditure.

if you prefer an online version - go to www.spendingdiary.com

Thankyou so much for that link!
