Cast iron fireplace

Hi, I have a black cast iron fireplace that I have to admit I have neglected for quite a while (except for dusting). I have noticed that it is starting to look a bit shabby and I would like to clean it up, but I have no idea what to use. Could anyone one help me please. :beer:

A good hardware store will sell you some old fashioned blacking for a couple of pounds which you apply sparingly with a cloth and rub in well. It will bring it up like new.0
