This is quick, simple & delicious, and goes well with festive meat as well, so allow enough for all your guests to sample.
serves 3 - 4
1 pack nut cutlets
1 onion
2 - 3 tomatoes
oregano
Cheese, preferably strong cheddar
Slice and soften onions
Slice tomatoes
Grate cheese
Place a layer of cutlets sprinkled with onion, tomato and oregano, repeat layer then top with grated cheese,
place in the oven for 20 - 25 minutes.
Lovely cold as well.0 -
Christmas day is always bacon sandwiches and fresh orange juice for breakfast, dinner is prawn cocktail then roast beef & pork, cabbage, carrots, roast potato & sweet potato, chestnut stuffing and apple stuffing, yorkshire puddings, chipolates in bacon and lots of homemade gravy, we always have xmas pud and double cream for dessert, if we're hungry later we have sandwiches, sausage/cheese rolls, cooked meats, pickles, chutneys, quiches etc. We have so much as its the only day my oh cooks and he always makes too much but we eat the leftovers on boxing day.0

Christmas Day I always make eggs benedict, only with smoked salmon instead of bacon. Sometimes I add a spinach and tarragon layer beneath the salmon. MMmm.
My boyfriend's cooking lunch, which relieves me more than I can politely say. We're having:
broccoli soup with walnuts and chèvre
goose, roasted full of stuffing
ham
(I'm having Quorn)
roasted potatoes
mashed potatoes
roasted root vegetables
sprouts with almonds and nutmeg (some with pancetta)
gravy
cranberry and orange sauce
rounds of chocolate/orange/whisky cake with a Toblerone and marscapone filling, drizzled with white and dark chocolate
lots of wine
We probably won't need anything in the evening, but there'll be nice bread for sandwiches and a whole array of leftovers to put between it.

Xmas eve - Takeaway, this has become a tradition now, as no-one fancies cooking on Xmas eve as we are so busy sorting pressies, preparing bits for dinner for xmas day etc so we treat ourselves to takeaway usually a Curry yum!
Glad it's not just my family! None of us can remember how it started but we always have KFC! No idea why as we never eat it the rest of the year. The house is always clean and ready and Mum especially never wants to cook anything.
For the first time ever I'm spending Christmas Eve and Christmas morning away from home this year! I'll be at my boyfriend's, then we (I!) will drive two and half hours to my house for Christmas dinner and Boxing Day!
Not ideal but with Christmas CDs and big Christmas jumpers on, should be fun!0 -
We are away for christmas so will likely have a fry up on xmas eve morning
Christmas day we have selection packs for breakfast, all of us not just the kids!
big kids too!
lunch is turkey crown with all the trimmings, followed by xmas pud
Dinner is likely crackers, cheese, pickles etc
boxing day - honey roasted ham egg and chips

My sister introduced pancakes for breakfast on Christmas day a few years ago. It's stuck, as it's simple, fun, sociable, yummy, and the children can enjoy handing out & opening prezzies at the same time.0
