looks good thank you ,one question though (hope you don't mind),with my old camera when I wanted larger prints they were awful ,grainy and not very clear at all....................this one will be ok will it ?
  • Depends what resolution you set the pics to - the P200 has HUGE resolution up to 7.2MP - the previous model P120 (is quite cheap at moment) does up to 5MP which will also give really good enlargements.
Basically higher the resolution the more memory each pic takes - I use a 1 GB mem stick which copes with what I do - I have smaller sticks for one offs or as spares.
I like the Sony stuff 'cos I have a Vaio laptop, Sony PDA and another old but sound camera and I can just swap the mem sticks without messing about with cables which save me packing space.
Their stuff is expensive but it works!!!
    Cheers

That's great ,thank you very much for your help :)
Just happy to get good pics of the grandkids etc ...................off to the shops tomorrow
  • My pleasure- Shop around though and look for "kits" which include cases, spare batteries etc which are much better value - the price of Sony stuff varies enormously from store to store - eBay is worth a look but beware of Hong Kong sellers! Don't forget good old Kelkoo - link at top of the chat pages
    Enjoy!!

I got the misses this for Christmas she is using it now very easy to use and has image stablisher and 6X optical zoom, most have 4x or digital, yuk.

I got mine from Jessops and they did a price match there only £5 more and also ordered a 512MB Viking SD card from Ebuyer for £16.

The camera was rated good at steve cameras, best cameras

    4 Megapixel Consumer
    Panasonic DMC-LZ1

It has 14mb builtin memory and not sure if it is included with 512mb or not but it can take at highest quality and least compression almost 200 pictures more than enough for most days outings.

I have a semi pro camera myself but I like the feel of the camrea nice and compact in fits in wifes small handbag.

It was has a simply user interface and econmoy mode (saves battery power) so if you unsure you can out it in a simply mode for easy settings, and when you have image stablisher as I do on my Minolta boy you dont want anything else.
  • Big tip is when you have finally chosen your camera search the net for the cheapest place then pop into jessops. They will price match any uk internet company. So you get the cheapest priced camera with a established bricks and mortar shop.Plus if they have it in stock you get it straight away :j

I love my Canon Ixus 55. Tiny camera, 5 million megapixels, huge screen, perfect quality. £216 at Pixmania.

I got my Panasonic DMC-FX7 from Jessop earlier this year; I have negative ability when it comes to photography (a family joke) but even I can get decent results with it. Highly recommend Jessops - couldn't have been more helpful.

The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.
