They wouldn't be able to give the same spec after a while, as they wouldn't make them anymore, so they would have to up the spec?

I'm not so sure. It sounds like a good way to off-load old stock and last years model(s) to me. What a great Business idea a simple way to get rid of the stuff no one wants to buy.

I've been looking into the promotion and asked a few questions. The response from the claims email address was as follows:

You do not have to renew the warranty every 3 years.

Where it states only Fujitsu accessories can be used, this relates only to internal modifications (eg memory, disc etc I guess).

The other interesting thing was that the address in the footer of the email was for a company called Opia Ltd. They appears to be a promotional risk management company.

If this is correct, there is a maximum fee Fujitsu will pay out for the promotion even if response rates are higher than previously thought. See http://www.opia.co.uk/risk_management/ for details. Thus, effectively they are insured for the cost of the entire programme.

Does make you wonder how much it cost them though..... ;-)
