Dixons Deliveries - On Time?

Bought a TomTom 700 from Dixons last Monday night (12 December) and they said it would be 5 days for delivery, with a e-mail being sent out to confirm delivery time etc. Now hit the fourth day and no e-mail and Dixons say they can't chase it until it is late. Going away for Xmas so kind of working against a deadline waiting for the delivery.

Also I understand that the oil refinary fire at Hemel Hempstead was near their main office and it did do some damage which may impact on Christmas deliveries.

Has anyone recently recieved a delivery from Dixons? Was it on time as promised?

I ordered an Archos AV560 last 12/12/05 night. Hasn't been dispatched yet, but has been confirmed.

Did Dixons deliver yet? Pfff...still waiting...I should have ordered from Currys instead.

I ordered an LCD Tv for them to be delivered on 10th December. I didn't get a confirmation email so rang to chase it up. The first couple of people I spoke to were quite vague. They said they were unable to check the progress of the order as the computers were playing up but that it should be delivered on time.
I then got a call from someone from Dixons a couple of days before it was due to be delivered. She said the computers were on the blink and that the orders were being processed manually so no email confirmation was being sent out. She also said that it might show up on my Dixons account as a cancelled order but not to worry about it. My delivery had been booked for Saturday but she said it would arrive Sunday instead if that was ok.

It arrived on Sunday as advised.
