Fuji F610 camera for sub £200

Options
Seen this 6 megapixel camera which incorporates super ccd meaning up to 12 megapixels photos on sale for £199 at Amazon and at Asda.

Anyone got any views on this camera and price which i think at asda is only valid until the end of November?

Asda also give you a voucher for 50 free photos to be developed with this camera

I love this camera, its a bit quirky in the fact that it is held upright, but this actually makes it easier to take steady pictures one handed.

As for the 12 million mega pixels...its a bit of a ploy as with many other cameras, its actually 6 million.

I bought it for about 320 at the beginning of summer, so a bit gutted now!

In my opinion i would get it, bargain at this price!

And if you use my referal link on Rpoints to buy it from Amazon... I'd certainly be very appreciative!!
    :):)

Seriously though...whether you do or don't get one... buy from Amazon or Asda... the F610 is a great little camera... there are many others around that compete very well against it but not at the price of the F610 I think.

For me it's extremely easy to use but has all the override features that you may wish to use, it looks extremely cool and is very solidly built...and quality well.... it's stunning... I have had a few pictures from the F610 printed by Photobox....even at A2 size the pictures are sharp and well defined.  The movie mode 640x480 at 30fps is also brilliant.

Anyway if you want some example of either the pictures or video's just let me know and I'll upload some for you to judge for yourself.

    EDITED to remove referrel link

    Oops! no prob! :)

    Cheers
  • The 610 is a great camera which I would have loved to have bought for this price.

Perhaps its best features are from its very fast 'save' function which means that you can shoot many frames per second (fps), really important for any sports photography.

    Details at:

which is also a GREAT site for digital camera info.
  • :) A friend of mine recently bought the Fuji F610. I haven't had a right chance to test it out yet - but it looks very good for the money :D

He went into Dixons expecting to be able to tell them it was a lot cheaper in Asda!! ;D Instead he found that Dixons were selling it also at £199 and he was able to get 12 months interest free credit!

Be cautious though - what they sign you up for is a 48 month contract with a 12 month interest free option - you need to make sure and pay additional money over and above the minimum direct debit amount so that £199 is paid before the 12 month period would expire. [flash=200,200][/flash]
  • I bought mine in the summer from Hong Kong via ebay.
cost about £210...plus £36 post and packing. Plus.....
£43 Customs and Excise duty which included £13.50p
Post Office collection fee before the postman could release the package ! Beware of hidden costs !

At sub £200 this is great value. The results are great.
I have flown round Cornwall taking pictures from 1000ft
and the detail is totally awesome.
My advice is to buy now, you will not find better quality at that price. ;)

Yep bought a Fuji F610 brilliant most impressive and got it out of Dixons!!! with the 12 month 0% - ( as Huff described on previous notes ) just ensure you pay it before the 12 month date.

Adsa are doing 512 XD cards £109 for £54.99 a bargain
