Ooh, perhaps not, then!
I got that impression from the way s/he once dealt with criticisms. S/he deflected them like a teacher seeking positives to say about pupils, and trying to avoid over-severe comments from some pupils about others.
Whilst I have come across teachers whose grammar I would criticise, they have not been frequently encountered, and their errors were not as gross as "them bonfires".

Curly may still be an ex-teacher. Perhaps it is his attempt to gain popularity with younger members by trying to be 'hip & happening' or whatever the latest buzz phrase is in yoof-speak.
Even the well educated are not slow to jump on a bandwagon when they see one - apparently there is now a version of Shakespeare's finest works re-written in street language! :eek:
