Will Jobcentre\DWP help with training costs?
Problem
I am claiming JSA for the first time (first visit next week) as I haven't been able to find I.T. work for a few months now.
I am absolutely skint and wondering can the Job centre help me with training costs for a course.
There is a £800  ISEB Software Testing Foundation Course which will move me in a more demanding area of IT that I've been wanted to do for a long time now but I simply can't afford it. I don't mind if they take the money back from NI or from my salary when back in work but as a lump sum it isn't possible for me.
Thank you for any advice you can offer

The best the Jobcentre could do at this point in your claim is refer you to a partner organisation who may be able to source a course and funding for you.
The Jobcentre can't normally offer financial assistance until the claim is six months old and benefit has been paid without a break for the 6 months. Even there is a limited budget and £800 is way over it.
Colleges generally offer courses at a large discount (or free) to the unwaged.0
